Our Motivation Monday post is hoping to inspire you for any hosting you will be doing on Christmas Eve. We got this idea from a favorite blogger, Julie of Swiss Family Gallagher, and have had it tabbed away for about a year in hopes we would get to host Christmas Eve. Well, this year the holiday is ours and we couldn’t be more excited about our table decor ideas. This super cute theme is easy, classic and so fun for the kids. The energy on Christmas Eve is one of my favorite parts of this holiday, so to expand on that only seems like the most natural thing to do! Our adult table decor is equally as easy and creates a simple elegance for adults to enjoy. Here’s the breakdown for you:
‘Tis the Season! What we love most about the holiday season is the little sprinklings throughout - baking gingerbread cookies and houses, decorating the tree, Elf on the Shelf shannagins, our girls decorating their mini trees for their rooms. We have a soft spot for a hand-written, snail-mailed letter as we shared in our Snail Mail post last March. So it is only fitting that we share this great little “Santa Writes Back Kit” creation by none other than Mr. Boddington’s Studio. There is still time (up until Dec. 15th!) to participate in this sweet idea. Something that can become a new tradition while keeping the old traditions alive.
We decided a while ago we want to gift the girls useful, simple presents this Holiday season. We have just spent almost 2 years of our lives packing, moving, sorting, moving again, purging, renovating, moving some more, renovating some more, purging, renovating. You get the idea. Through this we’ve realized that we have too much “stuff” and the burden of holding on to it seems ridiculous. Since we are about to embark on installing our family room area carpet (fingers crossed before Christmas!) we thought bean bags would be such a great addition to the room that we hang out in the most. So, the search began for the right bean bags.
We came across this lovely little brand while shopping around SoHo in NYC. Since, we’ve been buying and personalizing their tote bags for just about everything from our daughters’ ballet bags to “congrats, you got a new puppy!” gifts to college grad gifts! What fun we’ve had. And they are practical and simple as can be.
Exciting business. Getting the best photo when your munchkin meets Santa Claus is so fun. You want them to have a sweet outfit! Let’s face it - some of these photos are 100% Holiday card worthy! So, Bitsy has been shopping and we’ve picked out adorable outfits for your little ones so your photographs are frame-able. These outfits carry over as great Holiday outfits (day-of) as well!
We’ve been following the linen doll craze for some time now and have loved every minute of it. But it wasn’t until just recently that we came across a linen doll (+ dollhouse!) maker that really won our hearts. Let’s put it to you this way - if Bitsy were to be a doll, this is how it would look and dress!
We’ve recently started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with Lucy and Greer. It has been such a fun family experience to say the least. We snagged this illustrated copy of the book [ HARRY POTTER & THE SORCERER’S STONE ] from our local library in order to also engage Greer (age 4) and it has been such a special reading journey!
It's freezing here, so of course sweats are on our minds! We have always loved American Apparel's zip sweatshirts for toddlers. They’ve become our go-to for the girls. They come in slammin' colors that, believe it or not, go well with lots.
This year Lucy and Greer picked their Halloween costumes on their own and truthfully at separate times (seriously, last spring!). Lucy told me she was thinking Little Red Riding Hood and Greer told me she was thinking Goldilocks
In honor of International Day of the Girl we’re sharing an incredible new book (officially available for purchase on November 6th - pre-order details below!). Leah Tinari is an artist with extroadinary talent. Her artwork is inspiring in-and-of itself, but when you partner it with a book to empower girls and women, it truly becomes electric.
Greer’s 4th birthday was a few weeks ago - it came and went and I just can’t believe she is 4! Since we were so busy baking rainbow cakes and getting ready for our trip to AZ, we never had a chance to share her silhouette. Greer requested a carnival theme and currently her favorite color is purple (much to mama’s dismay), so here it is!
An interactive, screenless, hand-held, creative and adventurous storyteller for children ages 3-8. This device is convenient, comfortable, lightweight, easy-to-use and cute looking! We like it so much we’ve added it to our Gift Page…
Scamp + Dude is a brand we recently came across when hunting for cute sweatshirts for mama. Total bonus, they have a children’s collection as well! It is too awesome, too cute - have to share! It’s what you want to be wearing + what your little ones want to be wearing. Take a peek at our faves here
